How to reload 350 legend ammo:

If you’re a fan of the 350 legend ammo then you know that reloading your own ammo can

be a great way to save money and keep your shooting skills sharp.

But if you’ve never done it before, the process can seem a bit daunting. Here’s a step-by-step guide to

help you get started reloading 350 legend ammo like a pro.

Before we get started, let’s go over some of the basics. Reloading ammunition involves using a

set of tools to measure, charge, and seat new bullets into used brass cases.

The brass is first cleaned and trimmed to ensure that it will fit properly in the chamber of your firearm.

Once the brass is prepared, you’ll use a powder measure to dispense the correct amount of gunpowder into each case.

Next, you’ll use a bullet seating die to seat the new bullet into the case mouth, and finally, you’ll use a crimping die to secure the bullet in place.

The first step in reloading this legend ammo is to clean your brass. This can be done using a number of different methods,

but the most important thing is to remove all dirt, debris, and spent primer from each case. One popular method is to use a tumbler;

simply add your brass and some media (like crushed walnut shells) to the tumbler barrel, turn it on, and let it run for a few hours.

Another popular method is ultrasonic cleaning; this uses high-frequency sound waves to clean your brass without damaging it.

Once your brass is clean, it’s time to trim it. While you can trim your brass by hand with a pair of scissors or a sharp knife,

we recommend using a power trimmer for best results. A power trimmer will quickly and evenly trim your brass to the correct length,

which is important for both safety and accuracy.

We recommend setting your power trimmer to trim each case to 1.920 inches in length.

With your brass clean and trimmed, it’s time to start loading! Begin by setting up your reloading press according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Once your press is set up, install the appropriate dies for reloading 350 legend ammo; we recommend using a full-length resize die and a bullet seating die.

With your dies installed, insert a piece of empty brass into the shell holder and raise the ram until it’s in the full up position.

Now it’s time to add powder to your cases. For this step, you’ll need a powder measure and a powder funnel.

Begin by adding powder to your powder measure; we recommend starting with about 26 grains of IMR 4064 powder for .22-250 ammunition.

With your powder measure filled, trickle the powder into each case until it’s about halfway full.

Once all of your cases are charged with powder, use a powder checker or other means to verify that each case contains the correct amount of powder;

we recommend checking at least 10% of your cases.

With your cases charged with powder, it’s time to seat bullets into them.

For this step, you’ll need a bullet seating die and a bullet seater tool.

Begin by inserting an empty case into the shell holder and raising the ram until it’s in the full up position;

then screw the bullet seating die down until it just contacts the top of the case mouth.

With the seating die adjusted, insert a bullet into the seater tool and align it with the case mouth;

then screw the seater tool down until it contacts the seating die.

Finally, pull the handle on your press to seat the bullet into the case mouth;

we recommend seating bullets so that they’re flush with or slightly below the case mouth. Repeat this process for all of your cases.

Once all of your bullets are seated, it’s time to crimp them in place. For this step, you’ll need a crimping die and a crimping tool.

Begin by screwing the crimping die into place on your reloading press; then insert an empty case into the shell holder and

raise the ram until it’s in the full up position. With the case in place,

insert The crimping tool into The case mouth so that The beveled edge is facing

The bullet; then screw The crimping tool down until it just contacts The seating die.

Finally, pull The handle on Your press to crimp The case around The bullet; we recommendcrimping so that

The case mouth is slightly below flush with The bullet base.

Repeat this process for all of Your cases 350 legend  ammunition is now ready to fire!

The 350 Legend ammo is a straight-walled, rebated rim cartridge developed by Winchester Repeating Arms for deer hunters

who live in states that require such cartridges.

With mild recoil and excellent short to medium range ballistics,

the 350 Legend will obliterate any deer or hog that walks in front of your tree stand!

Cartridge Clash: 350 Legend ammo vs .360 Buckhammer

An Ohioan explains the purpose behind the Winchester .350 Legend and then how Remington adapted the cartridge for lever guns. Cartridge Clash: .350 Legend vs. .360 Buckhammer.

In 2019 Winchester released the .350 Legend, but many hunters and shooters were perplexed. Why did Winchester’s new

cartridge offer up relatively anemic ballistics? The Legend could barely muster .30-30 Win. energy levels,

and it appeared at the height of long-range shooting craze.

I understood the reasoning behind the Legend because I’m from Ohio, and those of us in our

40s who grew up in that state spent our formative years chasing deer with hard-kicking, punkin’ ball-chuckin’ slug guns.

In 2014 straight-wall cartridges like the .45-70 and .444 Marlin were made legal for hunting deer in the

Buckeye State, but those big boomers shot only a little flatter and recoiled slightly less than our six-pound pump slug guns.

The .350 Legend delivered us from the annual thrashing those slug guns doled out and gave us a rig

that would recoil on par with soft-kicking centerfire rifles. Soft-shooting, yes, but the Legend’s

straight-wall design prevents it from matching ballistics of bottleneck rifle cartridges.

Still, for shots under 200 yards the .350 Legend shoots flat enough for where we hunt, and it hits hard enough to dispatch any deer.

At the same time, a lot of hunters wondered when it would be available in a lever gun.

While its .378-inch rebated rim allows it to work well in standard .223/5.56 AR-15s and bolt actions, the Legend’s

design complicates extraction from lever guns.

Remington Ammunition decided to create what so many hunters were clamoring for: a

straight-wall hunting cartridge that worked in lever guns.

For a parent case, designers settled on the .30-30 Win., which has a

.506-inch rim diameter that offers ample space for a lever gun’s extractor to bite.

They removed the shoulder to create a straight wall, expanded the neck for a

.358-inch bullet and cut the length to 1.8 inches.

For 2023, there will be two Buckhammer loads: a 180-grain Core-Lokt and a 200-grain Core-Lokt.

Not surprisingly, the ballistics of these two cartridges are similar.

The .350 Legend uses .357-inch bullets in the 150- to 170-grain range as well as subsonic loads with projectiles around 250 grains.

Hornady’s 170-grain InterLock American Whitetail .350 Legend load has a muzzle velocity of 2,200 fps and generates 1,827 ft.

-lbs. of muzzle energy. Remington’s 180-grain Core-Lokt Buckhammer load does 2,374 fps at the muzzle for 2,252 ft.-lbs.of energy.

At 100 yards the Legend load hangs on to 1,281 ft.-lbs. to the Buckhammer’s 1,468.

When both loads are zeroed at 100 yards the Legend drops 8.9 inches at 200 yards and carries 882 ft.

-lbs. of energy while the Buckhammer drops 8.1 inches and strikes with 926 ft.-lbs.

The Core-Lokt name will attract many hunters to the Buckhammer, but the Legend is available

with some excellent projectile offerings from Winchester, Federal, Browning, Hornady and others.

Last year I saw two black bears killed at close range using .350 Legend rifles loaded with Winchester’s

160-grain bonded bullet, and both bruins dropped quickly.

If you are hunting big game like hogs, black bear over bait, or big-bodied deer or elk at close range

the Buckhammer generates about 400 ft.-lbs. more energy at close ranges, making it a good “brush gun”

candidate. Of course, the .350 Legend is designed to function in AR rifles, which make great brush guns as well.

There’s more Legend ammo available right now and a lot more rifles; at press time the Buckhammer had just been announced,

but Remington is sure to throw big support behind its cartridge.

I’ve shot the Legend quite a bit, and I had the chance to shoot a Henry prototype in .360, and I can tell you that recoil from both guns is mild,

although the .350 Legend does generate slightly less recoil than the Buckhammer. This battle boils down to one thing: personal taste.

Excellent product that goes “bang” every time. Very consistent results from load to load. One primer for magnum and standard large pistol rounds simplifies my inventory situation. Try them and you’ll love them also.

  4. vakfile

I use them to load 45 ACP. Very happy with them.

  5. peter

Remington primers are my favorite whether the smallest or the largest and all in between. I have never had one fail in four decades.

  6. dareln

I ordered 5K of these LPPs when they were on sale hoping they would be good performers in my 45acp reloads. I am not disappointed! They are easy to seat (I thought too easy at first) and I am pleased with their performance. Every primer has fired so far… several hundred loaded and shot so far. I find these equal or better in quality to CCI LPPs. Great product

  7. vannick625

I purchase these primers mostly because they were such a great deal. I have been pleased with performance. Ignition has been 100% so far (several hundred shot) and they are very easy to seat. At first I thought too easy, but I’ve had no problems at all in that regard. I find Remington LPPs to be equal to CCIs or Tula products. Look for your best deal and buy!

  8. swin89

Unlike a competitor’s brand, I haven’e had a single misfire. They also feed perfectly through my old Dillon RL 450. Very pleased. Price was good also.

  9. joe

Worked everytime I pulled the trigger. I use them in the .45 auto rim and .44 mag. No problums ever. Been using them for years……Doug

  10. luke89

Excellent primer. Very consistent priming and to date I have never had a bad primer.. thats 40+ years and over 100,000 Remington primers.

  11. nathalie

Use these primers for my 45 acp. Good functionality with no problems encountered. Don’t know of anything really negative to say about this product.

  12. swin89

I started reloading at age 11. I’m 61 now and shoot 15000 reloads a year down from 30M or so when I was a Law Enforcement competitor. Now as then always Remington Primed. They’ve never let me down…..unless it was my fault. I’ve tried other brands but feel like I’m cheating on my wife when I do. Nothing is like Remington.

  13. licd

My order for the #2 1/2 Remington primers was to add to my current supply. I’ve used the Rem #21/2 for 35 years of reloading and have never been disappointed.

  14. theo

These are my choice for all the 45 ACP I load. I load a lot, shoot a lot, and these Remington primers NEVER let me down. The package/trays are very small and store more efficiently.

  15. mayday

As a revolver shooter it was important to find a primer with a soft cup to replace Federal primers. The Winchester primers work fine which is important in speed competitions.

  16. samh

    finally in stock

  17. sorel

Winchester primers have been around longer than I have and have always done the job exactly as expected. I will continue to use them.

  18. hinds

I used them for reloading, as my Reloader hates CCI

  19. vin2

I have been re-loading since 1978. Winchester primers are my go to primer when they are available. Very consistent in ignition and superior in performance overall.

  20. ppfa

Work fine for me I like the non- plated finish.
